In response to questions regarding Nexperia, a spokesperson for China’s Ministry of Commerce stated that the Dutch government issued an executive order on September 30th, which improperly interfered in the internal affairs of Nexperia. Subsequently, a Dutch enterprise court made an erroneous ruling to strip Chinese enterprises of their equity, seriously infringing on the legitimate rights and interests of Chinese companies.
Since then, the Dutch government has disregarded the reasonable demands put forward by China in multiple rounds of consultations, failed to demonstrate a constructive attitude and actions, and further escalated the global supply chain crisis. On October 26th, Nexperia (Netherlands) announced the suspension of wafer supplies to Nexperia (China), rendering the latter unable to conduct normal production and causing turbulence and chaos in the global semiconductor supply chain.
The spokesperson emphasized that the Dutch side should bear full responsibility for this situation. The Chinese government will continue to take necessary measures to firmly safeguard the legitimate rights and interests of Chinese enterprises, and at the same time call on the Dutch side to correct its wrongdoings to avoid further damage to the global semiconductor industry.
