Global Tech-Finance Divergence: U.S. AI Rally vs. Asia-Pacific Correction

2025-11-10

The global tech-finance market showed significant divergence in Q4 2025, with U.S. stocks extending their strong rally on multiple tailwinds, while Asia-Pacific markets underwent structural corrections. Major U.S. stock indices recorded their longest winning streak in years, driven by a “triple resonance” of earnings, AI, and policy: Amazon’s Q3 revenue reached $180.2 billion, far exceeding expectations, pushing its stock price up nearly 10% in a single day; Apple’s net profit surged 86.4% year-on-year, and its holiday season guidance dispelled market concerns.

The AI narrative is shifting from model training to industrial integration. Samsung and NVIDIA’s joint construction of an AI superfactory, along with NVIDIA’s joint venture with Hyundai Motor, mark the deep integration of technology with the real economy. The Federal Reserve’s “cautious rate cut” stance has further created a moderate liquidity environment, serving as a key pillar for growth-oriented tech stocks.

In contrast, Asia-Pacific markets faced downward pressure: the Hang Seng Tech Index fell 8.4% in October, and China’s ChiNext Index dropped over 2.3% in a single day. However, structural opportunities emerged amid corrections: the innovative pharmaceutical sector bucked the trend to lead gains, with multiple stocks hitting daily 涨停 (limit-up), reflecting capital’s recognition of the industry’s cyclical reversal. TSMC plans to invest NT$1.5 trillion to build four A14 factories, demonstrating Asia-Pacific’s efforts to break through in the AI computing power sector. Top institutions argue that Chinese assets have now become a potential contrarian investment option to hedge against the U.S. AI bubble.
