Amazon Boosts Cloud Business in Q3 with Custom Chips

2025-11-21

Amazon’s Q3 2025 financial report, released recently, shows that the company is strengthening its core cloud computing business through technological upgrades. During the quarter, it launched a variety of Amazon EC2 instances featuring multiple custom chip solutions to consolidate AWS’s leading position in the cloud services market. Although specific revenue figures were not disclosed in the financial report, these technological investments are regarded as key measures to compete with rivals such as Microsoft and Google.

The chip products launched this time include the AWS Graviton 4 chip for high-speed networks, custom Intel Xeon 6 processors suitable for heavy computing tasks, and AMD EPYC processors supporting a wide range of applications. Notably, Amazon launched EC2 instances equipped with Apple’s M4 chips for the first time, specifically designed for the development and testing of iPhone and Mac applications. This cooperation is regarded by the industry as a breakthrough in cross-ecosystem collaboration.

Market analysts believe that the custom chip strategy will help Amazon reduce its reliance on external suppliers while enhancing the performance and cost advantages of its cloud services. Currently, the global cloud services market is in fierce competition. Amazon is strengthening its differentiated competitiveness through technological iteration, while Apple is expanding the application scenarios of its chip technology through the AWS ecosystem. Their cooperation is expected to create a win-win situation. Driven by this news, Amazon’s stock was relatively resilient amid the broader US stock decline, with its drop narrowing to 1.2%.
