The latest report from the International Data Corporation (IDC) issued a warning that affected by the super cycle in the memory industry, global PC prices will generally rise by 15%-20% in 2026. The report points out that the continuous rise in prices of core components such as DRAM is the core factor driving PC price increases. Coupled with the replacement wave brought by the end of Windows 10 support and the upsurge in AI PC promotion, it will further exacerbate the tight supply and demand pattern in the market.
IDC analysts believe that the rise in core component prices will put significant cost pressure on small and medium-sized PC manufacturers, and market share is expected to concentrate on large brand manufacturers with supply chain advantages. At present, major global PC manufacturers have begun to adjust their product pricing strategies and increase investment in AI PC R&D to cope with rising costs and changes in market demand. On the terminal market side, enterprise-level replacement demand is relatively rigid, while the consumer market may have short-term wait-and-see sentiment due to price increases, but long-term replacement demand will still support market scale.
