30th China Capital Market Forum: Blueprinting Financial Power Ecology

2026-01-13

Today, the 30th China Capital Market Forum concluded in Beijing. As the longest-running academic forum on the capital market in China, this year’s event, themed “China’s Capital Market: History and Future”, focused on the restructuring of the ecological chain and gathered consensus for the construction of a financial power. Ma Huaide, President of Renmin University of China, proposed that the capital market needs to build an ecological chain from three aspects: stimulating vitality, opening up and sharing, and standardization and transparency, emphasizing the core role of the rule of law in ecological construction.

Wu Yaodong, Chairman of China Post Savings Bank Wealth Management Co., Ltd., pointed out that the current low-interest rate environment coupled with the transfer of residents’ wealth puts forward higher requirements for the high-quality development of the capital market. Data shows that the total scale of China’s asset management industry approached 180 trillion yuan in 2025, of which bank wealth management exceeded 33 trillion yuan, having become a key force for the stable operation of the capital market. Li Fuchun, Chairman of Northeast Securities, stated that the securities industry should serve as a “service provider” for direct financing and a “gatekeeper” of the capital market to fulfill its mission of the times.

Chen Changzhi, Vice Chairman of the Standing Committee of the 11th and 12th National People’s Congress, emphasized that the essence of ecological restructuring is to build a sound system of coordinated investment and financing, allowing capital to return to the source of serving the real economy. The holding of this forum has clarified the development direction for the capital market at a crucial juncture of inheriting the past and ushering in the future, helping to deepen the integration of finance and the real economy.
