U.S. Stocks Mixed, Chinese Concept Stocks Rally

2026-03-11

In the early morning of March 11 Beijing time, U.S. stocks closed mixed, with market sentiment picking up slightly affected by expectations of eased U.S.-Iran tensions. The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 0.07%, the Nasdaq Composite Index rose 0.01%, and the S&P 500 Index fell 0.21%. Energy stocks pulled back, dragging down the market, while tech stocks showed differentiation.

Chinese concept stocks became the bright spot of the day. The Nasdaq China Golden Dragon Index closed up 1.96%, with most constituent stocks rising. Among them, NIO rose 15.18%, 21Vianet rose 14.76%, Alibaba rose 3.17%, and Futu Holdings rose 7.20%, mainly driven by the recovery of market risk appetite and expectations of better performance of some enterprises. Among U.S. tech giants, NVIDIA closed up 1.16% after reaching a multi-year cooperation with an AI startup; Intel closed up 2.63%, and its CEO said that the sharp rise in memory prices may continue until 2028; Oracle rose 5% after hours, with adjusted revenue exceeding expectations in the third fiscal quarter and outstanding performance in its cloud business.

Market analysis believes that current U.S. stocks are still affected by geopolitical situations and economic data. Going forward, it is necessary to focus on U.S. February CPI data and the Federal Reserve’s policy trends. For Chinese concept stocks, with the domestic economic recovery and industry policy optimization, the long-term investment value of high-quality enterprises is gradually emerging, but in the short term, it is still necessary to be vigilant against pullback pressure caused by geopolitical risks and market fluctuations.
