The 2026 Global 6G Technology and Industrial Ecosystem Conference opened in Nanjing today. Over three days, it will release a 6G white paper, core technical solutions and a commercial timetable, with more than 200 global enterprises and research institutions participating.
6G has entered a key research and development stage, with China accounting for over 35% of patents in terahertz communication, intelligent reflecting surfaces and other fields. Large-scale commercial use is expected to begin in 2028. As of April 20, 6G concept stocks had risen an average of more than 22% this year, with 17 targets seeing active trading. Leading firms such as ZTE and CICT Mobile have received capital inflows.
Industry insiders believe 6G will achieve integrated space-terrestrial connectivity and intelligent interconnection of everything, driving upgrades in the communications, semiconductor and computing industrial chains, with a potential market size exceeding 5 trillion yuan. China’s A-share communications sector fluctuated slightly today, with capital focusing on performance certainty. Institutions advised paying attention to leading companies in radio frequency chips, optical modules and satellite communications, while warning against short-term overvaluation risks.
