Power battery leader CATL launched two revolutionary technologies at its Super Tech Day on April 22, reshaping industry expectations.
First, the third-generation Shenxing ultra-fast charging battery can charge from 10% to 98% in just 6 minutes and 27 seconds, effectively eliminating range and charging anxiety for electric vehicle users.

Second, CATL confirmed its sodium-ion batteries have overcome key manufacturing challenges and will enter mass production in 2026. Compared with lithium batteries, sodium-ion cells use more abundant materials, lower costs, perform better in low temperatures, and offer higher safety. Mass production will reduce costs for electric vehicles and energy storage systems, triggering a material revolution in the energy sector.

The dual breakthroughs strengthened CATL’s global dominance and pushed its stock price to a new high. Industry observers called it a milestone for China’s leadership in global new energy technology.
