On May 28th, China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC) released a 300-billion-parameter Kunlun large model, marking another crucial step forward for CNPC in the field of artificial intelligence.

The Kunlun Large Model was completed with filing in August 2024, becoming the first large model in China’s energy and chemical industry to pass the filing. In November 2024, China National Petroleum Corporation also released the construction results of the 70-billion-parameter Kunlun large model.

In terms of industry large models, the parameters of language large models have increased from 70 billion to 300 billion, those of visual large models from 300 million to 4.4 billion, and those of multimodal large models from 16 billion to 80 billion. In terms of professional large models, the professional large models for the entire exploration field have been continuously iterated, and a new professional large model for refining and chemical time series has been added.
