Aluminum is the second most widely used metal after steel in terms of usage. Due to its lightweight, corrosion-resistant and recyclable properties, it is widely applied in fields such as construction, machinery, transportation, power electronics and packaging, with an industrial correlation of over 90%.
It is reported that China’s total aluminum consumption has exceeded 50 million tons, with a per capita aluminum consumption of 35.6 kilograms per person, surpassing the per capita consumption levels of developed countries such as the United States (with a peak of 35.2 kilograms per person in 1999) and Japan, and ranking among the highest in the world.
In addition, as the largest exporter of aluminum materials and products, China’s exports of aluminum materials and products reached 9.55 million tons in 2024, covering more than 200 countries and regions around the world.
