On June 2nd, according to the monitoring data from the Consumer Market Big Data Laboratory (Shanghai), during the two days before the Dragon Boat Festival (May 31st – June 1st), the total online and offline consumption in Shanghai reached nearly 20 billion yuan, representing a year-on-year growth of 4.1% compared to 2024 (June 8th – 9th). The sales volume of outbound tax refunds in the whole city increased by approximately 1.1 times year-on-year, and the amount of tax refunds also increased by approximately 1.1 times year-on-year.
The total consumption of the 19 monitored municipal-level business districts reached 1.36 billion yuan, achieving year-on-year growth. The promotion festival of high-quality products in the business district has seen more discounts. The “Infinite Trends Huaihai Road” consumption vouchers in Huangpu District have driven a 22% year-on-year increase in sales in the Xintiandi area. The “Play Around Yangpu” graduation season-themed consumption vouchers in Yangpu District have driven a 22% year-on-year increase in the consumption of the Wujiaochang business district. The amount of “Fashion National Trend Consumption Vouchers” redeemed in Changning District was nearly 1.6 million yuan, driving the sales of Zhongshan Park business district to increase by 1.1% year-on-year. The “Jing ‘an Business District Premium Consumption Vouchers” in Jing ‘an District drove a 6.3% year-on-year increase in sales in the Nanjing West Road business District on the Dragon Boat Festival. The “Happy Shopping in Pudong” consumption vouchers in Pudong New Area drove the sales of the International Tourism and Vacation Zone business district and the Lujiazui business district to increase by 18.1% and 0.9% respectively on the Dragon Boat Festival. The “Greater Hongqiao Shopping Vouchers” in Minhang District drove an 8.9% year-on-year increase in sales in the Hongqiao International Central Business District on the Dragon Boat Festival.
